Fully grown Token Forest apple tree

Start Growing Your Tree

Every token you spend in Claude Code / Codex becomes a floating bubble on your desktop — click to collect and watch your pixel tree grow, blossom, and bear fruit.

Windows · macOS — current version v0.2.2

🍎 macOS won't open it? Approve the app — one time (tap for steps)

These builds aren't code-signed yet, so macOS asks you to approve the app on first launch. It's safe, and you only do it once:

  1. Open the .dmg and drag TokenForest.app onto the Applications folder.
  2. Open it from Applications — a "could not verify" dialog appears, then click Done (do NOT click Move to Bin).
  3. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll down to the Security section:
  4. Click Open Anyway next to the "TokenForest was blocked" message, authenticate, then confirm Open Anyway once more:
Privacy & Security in macOS System SettingsThe Open Anyway button in Privacy & Security

Windows: fully extract the ZIP first (right-click → Extract All), then run TokenForest.exe from the extracted folder. If SmartScreen appears, click More info → Run anyway.

What is Token Forest?

🌱
Pixel Desktop Pet
A tiny plot of land hovering above your taskbar, home to a pixel tree that actually grows.
🫧
Token Visualizer
Every token Claude Code / Codex spends appears as a numbered bubble on your desktop.
🔒
Local · Privacy First
Reads local usage logs only. No account, no telemetry — the optional leaderboard is off by default.

Three steps to your tree

01
Download the installer
Click a button above, or grab the build from GitHub Releases.
02
Unzip and run
Windows: fully extract the ZIP, then run TokenForest.exe. macOS: open the DMG and drag the app into Applications. No command line, no extra dependencies.
03
Launch and grow
Open Token Forest and the sapling appears above your taskbar. Code as usual and watch tokens float up as bubbles.
Public beta

These beta builds aren't code-signed yet: if Windows SmartScreen appears, click More info → Run anyway; on macOS approve the first launch under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
